Studies have indicated that heat, when used properly, can positively impact a patient’s health. The US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health have released studies with instances where a Check Healthcare heating product can make a difference!
From the study:
“CONCLUSION: Maintaining the warmth guideline of 21 degrees C in living areas for at least 9 h per day was associated with better health status for COPD patients. Patients who were continuing smokers were more vulnerable to reduction in warmth.”

From the study:
“Perioperative hypothermia is physiologically stressful because it elevates blood pressure, heart rate and plasma catecholamine concentration that may increase the risk of cardiac complications, bleeding, wound infection, and post-anaesthesia care unit stay. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of warming intravenous fluids on perioperative hemodynamic situation, post-operative shivering and recovery in orthopaedic surgery patients.”

From the study:
“Hypothermia is a common complication in fluid resuscitation of the hypovolemic patient. Warm intravenous (IV) fluids have been shown to be a valuable adjunct in volume replacement to prevent this complication. A rapid method of warming IV fluids is the microwave oven.”
Microwave ovens are not typically mobile and do not have the capacity to accurately and safely heat IV fluids to consistent temperatures.
