Product Development

Check Healthcare works with medical recliner manufacturers to ensure the highest production quality. In order to do so, Check has established a refined process from beginning to end so as to ensure heating elements fit and function properly. Integration of our product into your manufacturing process is also considered in our product development.

Check meets with you to review the product -typically one of your medical recliners- that will be implementing the heat only or heat-and-massage system. The Check team then determines which heating system is best suited for your product. The team will also help to determine the best design and placement of switches, harnesses, control modules and the power supply. Each design is customized for best use of your product.

A prototype is then created with either the heat only or the heat-and-massage system. Along with your input, Check Healthcare reviews the prototype to determine if any design or implementation changes are needed. Once final specifications are approved, Check builds and installs a prototype system into the recliner. At this point, Check engineers test and evaluate the entire heat only or heat-and-massage recliner system in our Michigan-based factory.

Armed with a Quality Engineering Department, Check products are manufactured in our ISO 9001 certified factory. Any needed changes are also made and re-checked for quality standards. Check implements quality tests to ensure the manufacturing process has consistent safety performance; making sure products always meet the medical standards for temperature safety. All medical recliner heat only and heat-and-massage systems are UL 60601-1 certified.

Once these requirements are met, the Check team meets with you to review the design and implementation of the heat only or heat-and-massage system for your recliner. Changes can be made by your team or Check until a finished design is agreed to, and signed off – indicating that it’s ready for production release.

After a careful review of the design, Check takes the extra step to help you review your manufacturing process to determine how to best integrate the Check Healthcare heat only or heat-and-massage system’s installation into your current production process.
